You can get the packages from "http://www.acepoint.de/". There is also a mirror at "http://mole.dnsalias.org/~acepoint/", but this is only a dsl connection (with download rates for you of round about 18kb/s. So please take the first url. There is no warranty on these packages. If your system crashes, your monitor explodes or your last dissertation goes to nirvana ... don't blame me. I divided the packages into "gnubg" (needs OpenGL!), "gnubg-no-3d", "gnubg-databases" and "gnubg-sounds". If you already have the databases and sounds you only need to update the main package. The SuSE-packages are built on a SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9. The RedHat-packages are built on a RedHat Advanced Server 3.0. They should also work on Redhat-9, Fedora-Core-1/2 and Mandrake-9/10. For Debian this was my first attempt to create packages. I will (hopefully) soon be able to divide the big package into three different packages also. When you have problems while installing, find errors or have suggestions, don't hesitate to drop me a line. 1. gtkglext-1.0.4-1.i586.rpm (necessary for 3d support) 2. ftgl-2.0.11-1.i586.rpm (necessary for 3d support) 3. gnubg-0.14-5.i586.rpm (gnubg binary 3d support included) 4. gnubg-no-3d-0.14-5.i586.rpm (gnubg binary without 3d support) 5. gnubg-databases-0.14-5.i586.rpm (the databases) 6. gnubg-sounds-0.14-5.i586.rpm (sound files) 7. gnubg-0.14-5.src.rpm (the source rpm package) If you want to compile from source-rpm, do a #: rpmbuild --rebuild [package] (on RedHat or SuSE-9.x) #: rpm --rebuild [package]" on SuSE<=8.2. The packages are all signed with my key. To verify them, do a #: rpm --import [public key] #: rpm --checksig [package] (on RedHat or SuSE-9.x) or #: gpg --import [public key] #: rpm --verify [package] (on SuSE<=8.2). If you don't trust my key here, you may also get my key from any keyserver. If you don't trust me at all, I can't help you. If there is time, I will also build no-gui- and cpu optimized versions. Be patient. Ciao Achim
